A fashionable London wedding

Charlie Brear wedding dress

The Barbican Conservatory is a modern London wedding venue

“We were really pleased to find the Barbican Conservatory for our wedding venue, as we really wanted a London wedding, and love the way that the Barbican Conservatory combines such amazing plants and greenery with the industrial concrete structure and glass roof. We knew that we wouldn't need to worry about the weather too!”

Bride Ella wore a Charlie Brear dress and Prada shoes, with bridesmaids in House of Hackney print dresses

“Charlie Brear was the first place I went to look. I loved the fact that it was a wedding dress, but still didn’t feel too traditional. The fringing had the best movement for dancing! The wedding dress had a subtle 1920s vibe and I went with a headpiece to complement this.”

“The shoes were Prada - not something that I would usually spend this much money on, but I though I'd rather invest and then wear them again, which I have many times since!”

“I've always wanted a Pamela Love hand-chain so this was the perfect excuse! The necklace was antique and a gift for my 30th birthday which I thought was the perfect finishing touch.”

And for the bridesmaid dresses we thought that the House of Hackney Palemeral print would complement the venue perfectly”

“We also made a collar and lead for Peggy (our dog), a bow tie for our ring bearer, and a pocket square for Magnus out of the same fabric. Peggy also had a flower collar especially made for her by Petalon.”

Personal wedding details included succulents, Moroccan mats, concrete coasters, and paper tassels

“The Barbican Conservatory is such a beautiful venue and didn't need much doing to it in terms of decorations, but we did want to add a bit of personality. Down the aisle we laid vintage moroccan rugs. We then had flowers installed by Petalon at the end of the aisle to frame the table.”

“Our table decorations were made up of mismatched plants, cacti and succulents that my Mum spent hours potting up for us, which were sitting on vintage Moroccan mats which we bought on a trip out there a few months previously.”

We had concrete coasters made as our favours, and for the wine glasses to sit on during the meal.”

“We wanted to jazz up the room where we had the evening party, so we with the help of our friends we hand-made hundreds of paper tassels and also painted huge canvases.”

“Midnight Blue played during the ceremony and reception. They learnt 'Club Tropicana' to play as I walked down the aisle! We attempted to sing Madness - 'It Must Be Love' - during the ceremony”

“Mariachi El Mexicano played for the first part of our reception, which was a great way to get everyone into the party mood.”

“Our first dance was the Conga so that everyone could get involved, and then DiscoWed provided great music for the rest of the night.”

Wedding entertainment included a Mariachi band, a wedding Conga, and a DJ

“Your photos are amazing Tim.  We truly LOVE them!! Really perfect - we couldn't have asked for more! Thank you so so much”
