Country house wedding

Festival style wedding

Buckland House wedding photographer

An intimate and fun country house wedding

“Buckland House sits in 280 acres of land and woodland, with its own lake and church. The outside is impressively grand but laid back and welcoming inside, exactly what we wanted for our wedding. We completely fell in love with the place”

A festival style wedding with local bands and local food and drink

“We transformed the venue into a mini festival. We put up sun shades and hay bales to form the seating area for guests. Our artists included Josie Lloyd, Tobias Jacob and Lukas Drinkwater. It was a perfect accompaniment to our weekend wedding … Pimms, a hog roast, and great music to entertain our wedding guests. The weather was perfect … it felt like we were getting married at a festival!”

A couture wedding dress and Alexander McQueen bridal shoes

“We discovered a small independent wedding dress designer called Couture Bridal Designs in Nottingham, who designed my dress. It was perfect”

“For my wedding shoes I found an amazing coral / pink Alexander McQueen armadillo sandal that was perfect, I loved how you could see a pop of colour when I walked”

We wanted the bridesmaids dresses to be different colours and styles, and was inspired by ‘flying saucer’ sweets, each girl had a sherbet tone and picked a dress they liked and would wear again”

Stunning wedding details, including a school coat peg seating plan, vintage chairs, chalk boards, vintage crates, wild flowers, collected jars and tins for wild flowers, and bunting

“We hosted the wedding dinner in the old gymnasium in Buckland House, which used to be a school. It was charming, intimate and fun, which was the perfect backdrop for the speeches and the meal.”

“We used school coat pegs for the seating plan, chalk boards for the running order of the bands, and vintage crates for the beautiful wedding hydrangeas and wild flowers, set in jars and tins. Our friends and family collected these for months … as well as making hundreds of meters of bunting!”

“For the 9 month running up to the wedding, we travelled over the whole country collecting vintage chairs, primarily 1960-70s stacking school chairs; and we also managed to source our own vintage trestle tables for the wedding dinner.”

“We hand stamped paper bags for cutlery and napkins, which were inexpensive but looked great on the hessian and white tables. We used scrabble pieces for named places and for favours”

“We still feel very privileged to have found someone like Tim to do our photographs. He offered something cooler, that really seemed to not only captured key moments of the day, but also tell the story of a wedding.

We don’t take ourselves very seriously and Tim captured us perfectly without us having to stand still and pose. He really did put us at ease.

During the day he was organised and when he needed to, got some great shots of the ceremony and the meal, but then blended into the background to get photos of the day rather than a ton of static poses.

The pictures he took from the wedding are incredible, we are so glad we picked him”
